Pixel Art Resizer & Upscaler
Make small pixel art bigger without blur, or shrink oversized sprites back to their original pixel size. Every pixel stays perfectly sharp, and your image never leaves your device.
- No blur, no smoothing
- Upscale up to 64×
- Auto-detect pixel size
- Keeps transparency
Resize Your Pixel Art
Upload an image, choose how much to scale it, and download a crisp PNG.

Tips for the best result
- Upscale turns every pixel into a bigger square block, so a 32×32 sprite at 8× becomes a sharp 256×256 image.
- Downscale is for pixel art that was already enlarged. Press Detect pixel size to find the original size automatically.
- Use PNG files when you can. JPG compression adds noise that makes pixel detection less accurate.
- Animated GIFs are resized using their first frame only.
Resize Pixel Art in Three Steps
No sign-up and no software to install. Everything runs right in your browser.
Add your image
Drag and drop a file, choose one from your device, or paste it straight from your clipboard.

Save your resized artwork as a lossless PNG, ready for games, social media, printing or your portfolio.
Why Normal Image Resizers Ruin Pixel Art
Most photo editors smooth images when they enlarge them. That blends neighboring colors and turns crisp pixel edges into a blurry mess.
Nearest-neighbor scaling
We copy every pixel into an exact square block with smoothing turned off, so your art keeps its hard edges and original colors.
Automatic pixel size detection
Found a sprite that was enlarged somewhere else? The detector measures the size of its pixel blocks and shrinks it back to the true original resolution.
Private and instant
Your image is processed by your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so it’s fast and your files stay with you.
Transparency and grid lines
Transparent backgrounds are kept by default. You can also fill them with a color, or add grid lines to turn your art into a pattern for cross-stitch or beads.
Pixel Art Resizer FAQ
Quick answers about resizing and upscaling pixel art.
Why can I only use whole-number scale factors?
Pixel art looks best when every original pixel becomes the same size. With whole numbers like 2×, 4× or 8×, each pixel turns into a perfect square block. Fractional sizes like 2.5× would make some pixels wider than others, which looks uneven.
What is the largest image I can create?
The result can be up to 8192 pixels wide or tall and about 40 megapixels in total. These limits keep the tool fast and stop your browser from running out of memory. If you hit the limit, choose a smaller scale factor.
Why does “Detect pixel size” say my image is already at its original size?
Detection works on clean pixel art where every block is one solid color. Photos, JPG files, screenshots with blur, or images that were resized with smoothing don’t have clean blocks, so the tool can’t measure them reliably. In that case you can still choose a downscale factor yourself.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The resizer runs entirely in your browser. Your images are never sent to our servers, and they are gone from the page as soon as you close or refresh it.
